16×20 oil on canvas. Persian Ibex were introduced to New Mexico In the late 1960’s along with two other exotics, the Gemsbok Oryx and the barbary sheep. The Ibex live on the Florida (Flor-EE-da) Mountain Range in southern New Mexico. They are thriving here perhaps better than even in their native home of Iran. This is the only mountain range in North America that these beautiful creatures roam free. If you get a chance, watch a video on them. Or better yet, visit the Florida’s. They are absolutely amazing!! They often run up and down sheer cliff faces. This painting is painted around the sides but if you would prefer I can have it custom framed.
